TAMA-Sonya Helen Harris, age 19, of Harvey, IL and formerly of Tama, died on Sunday, November 18, 2007 in Harvey due to causes pending a police investigation. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, December 7, 2007 at 2:00 PM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Tama. A Memorial Visitation will be held 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the church on Friday morning.
 Sonya Helen Harris was born on July 27, 1988, in Amarillo, TX, the daughter of Tony and Louisa (Aldama) Harris.
 She attended school at Roosevelt High School in Des Moines and South Tama High School. Sonya enjoyed art and crafts.
 She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Juagina Aldama.
 Survivors include her father Tony (Sue Nelson) Harris of Des Moines; her mother, Louisa Mary (Juan Carlos) Lopez of Marshalltown; sisters, Tonya (Jamie Gallardo) Harris of Tama, Misty (Omar Hernandez) Harris of Marshalltown, Kristy (Andreas Flores) Harris of Tama, Janice (Roberto Gonzales) Harris of Marshalltown, Laurena Nelson of Des Moines and step-sister, Shawna King of Des Moines; twin brother, Tony Harris Jr. of Tama, brothers, Brandon Harris of Marshalltown, Thomas Lopez of Marshalltown, and step-brother, Don Nelson of Des Moines; her maternal grandfather, Tony Aldama of Ft. Morgan, CO; her paternal grandparents, Terrell (Becky) Harris of Calhoun, GA and Virginia Spears of Calhoun, GA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
