TAMA- Alan Franklin Doyle, age 74, of Tama, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids following a short illness. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Dewey Grimes officiating. Interment will be private. A Memorial Visitation will be Saturday, March 29, 2008, prior to the service from 9-11 AM at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Alan Franklin Doyle was born on April 10, 1933, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of James and Mildred (Bent) Doyle.
He graduated from Tama High School. Alan served his country in the U.S. Army.
On July 21, 1956, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Ellis at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. He retired from Fisher Controls in Marshalltown after thirty-one years of employment. Alan was a member of the Tama American Legion and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Tama. He enjoyed golf, playing cards, and was an avid sports fan.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Tama; three sons, Jeff (Geri) Doyle of Newton, Tim Doyle of Toledo and Andy Doyle of LeClaire; two granddaughters, Aubrie and Mallorie Doyle; and one brother, James G. (Doris) Doyle of Tama.
A memorial fund has been established.
