Alexus Renee McDaniel, 27, of Tama, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024 at her home. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Memorial Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2024 from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.

Alexus was born on July 3, 1996, in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Jaime McDaniel.

She graduated from Mission Valley High School in Eskridge, KS and attended one year of college. Alexus was employed at Spanky's Restaurant in Tama and previously worked at Casey's and Family Dollar. She enjoyed playing with her nephews and niece and loved her cats. Alexus also enjoyed taking pictures of sunsets.

Survivors include her mother, Jaime (Casey) McDaniel-Welch of Topeka, KS; brother, Aubrey (Alicia) McDaniel of Marshalltown; stepbrothers, Dustin, Adrian and Jonathan Welch; grandfather, Warren McDaniel of Toledo; two uncles, Todd (Lisa) McDaniel of Ontario, Canada, and Kent (Rose) McDaniel of Toledo; aunt, Julie McDaniel-Bodkins of Topeka, KS; nephews, Leo Alan McDaniel, Archer Welch, Arius McDaniel and Kaius McDaniel; and niece, Stella Harris.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Judy McDaniel; and brother, Cody McDaniel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
