Andrew “Andy” Raymond Jensen, 83, of Dysart, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center. Visitation will be Thursday, July 30, 2026 from 4-7 PM at the Dysart United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 31, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Dysart United Methodist Church. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
Andrew Raymond, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather was born August 22, 1942, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Alma (Frericks) Jensen.
He graduated from Clutier High School.
Andy married Virginia Pearson and together they had six children. He married Carol Nessler and she passed away in 2001, and then married Marvina Collins Eide on February 21, 2004 and she passed away in 2022.
Andy worked many jobs including, John Deere, hauling oil for Standard Oil, Aspro Paving, as well as helping his son, Bart, in his garbage disposal business. He was formerly active in the Clutier Fire Department. He played guitar for many years and played in a band, “The Danes” with his dad Raymond. His collection of guitars was something worth seeing. Andy enjoyed camping with the family and going to see other musicians play. One of his highlights was his visit to Nashville.
Survivors include his six children, Barton (Dawn) Jensen of Dysart, Sandy (Bob) Hodges of Cedar Rapids, Curtis (Shannon) Jensen of Traer, Scott (Jeanne) Jensen of Naples, FL, Kerri (Bill) Harkrader of Clutier, and Julene Jensen (Aaron Pohlman) of Dysart; three stepchildren, Mike Nessler, Tammy Hager, and Lisa Betchelder; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Pam) Jensen of Newton, and Robert (Linda) Jensen of Schererville, IN; sister, Raylene (Lon) Fisher of Brooklyn; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two wives, Carol and Marvina.
A memorial fund will be established.
