TOLEDO- Anna V. Hosek, age 89, a resident of Sunny Hill Care Center, Tama formerly of Toledo died Friday morning, June 2, 2006 at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center following a short illness. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 5, 2006 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastoral Associate Tom Christoffer officiating. Interment will follow at National Cemetery in Vining. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM Sunday at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
She was born on February 2, 1917 in rural Tama County, the daughter of Frank and Marie Vesely Dalecky. On October 5, 1938 she was united in Marriage to Joseph S. Hosek at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They farmed five and one half miles west of Clutier for forty-seven years. They retired to Toledo, Iowa. Anna enjoyed picking apples at Hinegardners and taking drives with her husband Joseph and especially enjoyed visits from their children and grandchildren.
Anna was preceded in death by parents, husband Joseph on June 21, 2005, one son Donard in infancy, and five brothers and sisters.
She is survived by one son Richard (Phyllis) Hosek of Elberon; two daughters JoAnn (Bob) Latting of Grinnell, and Marlys (Bob) Butz of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren Randy (Sharon) Hosek, Christy (Cam) Konicek, Laura (Rusty) Martin, James (Rose) Hosek, Terri (Mick) Kane, Traci (Mark) Corley, Tim (Stephanie) Latting, Tony (Genelle) Butz, and Heidi (Sam) Barrett; twenty great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
A memorial fund has been established.
