Barbara Jean Sauer, 71, of Marshalltown, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Bob Kosbau officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 1 PM until the time of service at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.

Barbara was born on August 5, 1949, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the daughter of Henry and Lilyanna Kucera and was raised in the Tama area.

Barbara previously worked at Wendy's and the Meskwaki Casino. She helped on the farm growing up. Barbara was a good cook and liked raising livestock on the farm.

Survivors include sons, Billy (Aurelia) Benda of Malcom, Donnie (Glynis) Benda of Marshalltown, and Mark (Serena) Benda of Marshalltown; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Benjamin Benda; and one sister, Helen Crocker.
