TAMA-Benjamin D. Kelley, age 55, of Tama and formerly of Marshalltown died Friday, January 8, 2010 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 from 9 AM to 11 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Benjamin was born on November 28, 1954, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Dwight and Anita (Sorenson) Kelley.
He graduated from Marshalltown High School.
He was married on December 31, 1979 to Alyce Lins in Marshalltown. They later divorced. Benjamin was employed by Chicago Northwestern Railroad and later Union Pacific.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include one daughter, Amber (Jessie) Johnson of Des Moines; one son, Dustin Kelley of Des Moines; one step-daughter, Madison Kelley of Des Moines; one granddaughter, Alexis Johnson; his ex-wife, Alyce Kelley of Des Moines; one sister, Sandy (Gary Cook) Eich of Marshalltown; one niece, Kristi Anderson; and one nephew, Chad Eich.
