TAMA-Bernice Vore, age 95, of Tama died Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Carrington Place of Toledo. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with David St. Ores officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo.
Bernice was born on July 17, 1914 in rural Tama County, the daughter of Frank and Lucy (Cherveny) Spinler. She attended rural Tama County Schools. She was united in marriage to John H. Vore on December 18, 1934 in Anamosa, Iowa. Bernice was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, needlework and reading.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband John in 1984; a sister, Gladys Kasal; a brother, Lawerence Spinler; and a grandson, Douglas Vavroch.
Survivors include her children, Della (Don) Vavroch of Belle Plaine, Darlene (Willmer) Cooper of DeWitt, Darrell (Marilyn) Vore of Johnston, Deloris (Dick) Hasbrock of Redmond, WA, and Darla (Al) Luzum of Bella Vista, AR; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Violet Eisele of Traer, Orleen Nekola of Toledo and Mildred Weaver of Montezuma; and a brother, Earl (Helen) Spinler of Lost Nation.
