Obituary

Betty Ann Gray, 71, of Tama, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, March 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Rev. Bobby Shomo officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Monday, March 28, 2016 from 9:00 AM until the time of service at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Betty was born on October 15, 1944, in Summerville, TN, the daughter of Jessie Aaron and Effie Beatrice (Thompson) Ames.
On September 12, 1970, she was united in marriage to Charles W. Gray in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. It was important to Betty to stay home and raise her children. She then was a housekeeper at Super 8 Motel in Toledo. Betty liked working outside in the yard but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Scott Gray of Tama and Brian (Crystal) Gray of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, Parker and Camdyn Gray; her siblings, Joyce (Mike) Mullins of Sherwood, AR, George Ames of White Hall, AR, James (Regina) Ames of Rison, AR, Jimmy Ames of Pine Bluff, AR and Charles (Gina) Ames of White Hall, AR; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Charles in 2005; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ames.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
