Betty Jean Little Prusha, 87, of Tama, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Dennis Conway officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Masks and social distancing are required at the church. For those not comfortable or unable to attend, the Mass will be live streamed on Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home and Cremation Services Facebook page.
Betty was born on July 10, 1933, in Clutier, Iowa, the daughter of Wilson and Albina (Balvin) Masker.
She graduated from Tama High School.
She married Leonard Prusha on October 15, 1978 in Toledo, Iowa. Betty had many jobs over the years. She worked at Marshall Manufacturing in Marshalltown twice, Square D in Cedar Rapids, and drove a mail truck. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama where she was an Eucharistic Minister and helped a lot in the kitchen. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed all sports, liked to bake and always had someone waiting at the Legion Fish Fry's for her kolaches.
Survivors include her children, Cindy McKinney of Traer, Dale (Karen) Little of North Carolina, Karen Sawyer of Tama, and Jeff (Beverly) Little of Maryland; stepchildren, Tim (Amy) Prusha of Marshalltown, and Polly (Bill) Bouska of KS; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy (Wayne) Foreman of Tama, Wilbert (Larrie) Masker of Tama, Barb (Roger) Steveson of Tama, Bernie (Colleen) Masker of Conrad, Beverly Timm of Tama, and Kitty Dirks of Anamosa; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Leonard in 2003; step-daughter, Peggy (Mike) Lynch; and brother-in-law, Alan Timm.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
