Brad McKee, 54, of Drakesville and formerly of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at his home. Memorial Services will be held Monday, April 7, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. A Memorial Visitation will be held Monday, April 7, 2014 from 9 AM until the time of service at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama.

Brad was born on December 7, 1959, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Eddie Russell and Shirley Ruth (Guy) McKee.

He graduated from South Tama High School in 1978 and attended the University of Northern Iowa.

Brad owned his own business, Buggy Stuff selling Equine equipment and sleigh bells and worked for D.B. Construction in Drakesville. He attended Drakesville United Methodist Church and was on the City Council in Drakesville. Brad was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a former member of Ridge Rider Saddle Club. He enjoyed horses, motorcycling, dancing, cruises, scuba diving, sky diving and basically enjoyed life.

Survivors include his canine companion, Jackson; one sister, Patty (Jerry) Hauersperger of Grinnell; two brothers, Rodney (Cindy) McKee of Tulsa, OK and Marty McKee of Tulsa, OK; his nieces and nephews, Elizabeth and Travis McKee and Dalton and ValiJo Hauersperger.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and grandparents.

A memorial fund has been established.
