Brenda L. Smith, 75, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away in her sleep on Saturday, December 24, 2016, at her home in Sebring, Florida. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Grandview Cemetery in rural Tama with Pastor Brian Oliver officiating.
Brenda was born December 2, 1941, in Auburn, New York.
She retired from Onondago County, New York as a social worker and made her home in Tama, Iowa, spending winters in Sebring, Florida.
Brenda led a full life. She enjoyed painting, bingo and occasional trips to the casino. She was a wonderful cook and a loving mother and grandmother. She thought the world of her children, grandchildren and her one great-grandchild, Bronson Ray Crandall. She was of Methodist faith and attended Whispering Pines Baptist Church while in Sebring.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Holly Crandall, and her husband, Ray Amico.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon E. Smith of Tama; her children, Ray, Terry and Todd Crandall, and Nanette Moeller. She is also survived by step-children, Susan Broedel, Karyn Dziezynski, Joe Amico, Rosann McKinney, Jean Cole, Cameron Smith, Diane Houghton, Marvin Ritt, Vicki Lee, and Terry Chilswig; thirty five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and siblings, George Jr., John, Roger, and Mike Parry and Barbara Barber.
