Brian L
Harrington
May 5, 1981 – November 12, 2020
Brian L. Harrington, 39, of Montezuma, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 at UnityPoint-Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. His heart finally could not keep up with the medications that kept the rest of his body going. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Terry Collins officiating. It is requested that masks be worn and maintain social distancing inside the funeral home. Please feel free to leave condolences to the family at www.kruse-phillips.com
Brian was born on May 5, 1981, in Muscatine, Iowa, to Mark Harrington and Susan (Spinden) Harrington.
He grew up in Toledo and graduated from Cedar Rapids High School. While in high school, Brian was in a severe car accident. After almost a year in hospitals, the doctors had put Humpty Dumpty back together again. His struggles with the lingering effects of his injuries defined his life, however his heart and mind defined him. He loved to expand his knowledge, could make a guitar sing, and gave to others what he couldn't give to himself.
He is survived by his parents, Mark and Sue Harrington of Tama, Sue and Dan McWhinney of Marion; his brother, Brad (Amber) Harrrington of Garwin; his grandfather, Lew Taylor of Clive; three nieces, Madison Halverson, and Cambry and Cali Harrington; two uncles, Dan (Mary) Harrington of Des Moines, and Pete (Cindi) Spinden of Nashville, TN; and his step brothers and cousins.
Memorials may be designated to the Mental Health Charities of your choice.
