Burnadene Clara Kunch, 93, of Toledo, passed away, Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
Burnadene was born on March 28, 1931, in Garwin, Iowa, the daughter of Rudolph and Elsie (Baumeier) Wiese.
She attended Toledo High School.
On October 5, 1951, she was united in marriage to Cyril Kunch at the United Brethren Parsonage in Toledo. Burnadene was a homemaker and worked at Mother's Kitchen in Tama for several years. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Toledo, Toledo American Legion Auxiliary, Rebekah Lodge, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, Polka Club of Iowa, and Toledo Garden Club. Burnadene enjoyed polka dancing all over the country, traveling, especially to Las Vegas a couple times a year. She also enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center in Toledo and cherished the time she spent with family at their cabin in Minnesota.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie Filloon of Tama; four grandchildren, Melinda (Tim) Martens of Toledo, Jeffrey Filloon of Tama, Nicole Filloon of Coralville and Dustin Filloon of Tama; great-grandchildren, Chelsea (Ethan) Llewellyn, Tyler Martens, Erin (Kaden) Moore, Hunter Filloon, Dayton Filloon, Gunner Filloon, Holden Rebich, Brooklyn Henderson, Kinzer Jaennette and London Jaennette; great-great grandchildren, Olivia Llewellyn, Byron and Banks Moore; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Cyril in 2005; brothers, Gilvan, Verlys and Alan Wiese; sisters, Leora Wiese and Franzene DuToit; and son-in-law, Phillip Filloon.
A memorial fund will be established.
