TOLEDO-Carole A. Dvorak, 73, of Toledo, passed away Monday, October 3, 2011 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama under the care of Iowa Hospice. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 7, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Brian Oliver officiating. Private Interment will be held at Stayskal Cemetery in rural Vining. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Carole was born on May 20, 1938, in Toledo, Iowa, the daughter of Lester and Sarah (Wolcott) Boriskey.
She attended country school in rural Tama County and graduated from Tama High School.
On June 7, 1957, she was united in marriage to Leonard Dvorak at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Carole had previously worked as a waitress at King Tower in Tama and Big T Maid-Rite in Toledo. She also sold Tupperware. Carole enjoyed having coffee and visiting with friends, gardening and going to watch her grandsons play sports.
Preceding her in death were her parents; an infant daughter, Judy; two brothers, Frank Boriskey Sr. and Joseph Boriskey; and three sisters, Emily Geiger, Frances White and Margaret Brezina
Survivors include her husband of fifty-four years, Leonard Dvorak of Toledo; one daughter, Sheryl (Ken) McMurray of Tama; two grandsons, Sean (Casey) McMurray and Shea McMurray; two great-grandchildren, Quinn and Delaney McMurray; two sisters, Dorothy Denbow of California and Helen (Rudolph) Brezina of Tama; one brother, Jerry (Sylvia) Boriskey of Montour; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established.
