Carolyn Marie Flowers, 81, of Toledo, passed away August 3, 2024 at Premier Estates of Toledo. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM prior to the funeral at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.

Carolyn was born on May 4, 1943, in Montezuma, Iowa, the daughter of Eldon "Short" and Harriett "Maxine" (Henderson) McGinn.

She graduated from Newton High School in 1960.

On April 26, 1989, she was united in marriage to Al Flowers at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They made their home in Toledo. Carolyn was previously employed at Grinnell Beverage Company, the Tama County Sheriff's Department as a dispatcher and the State Bank of Toledo.

Carolyn had many adventures with the love of her life, Al. They enjoyed antiquing, dancing, and spoiling their cats, Big Guy and Missy. They owned and operated, Bushy Ridge Antiques in Toledo, where they sold antiques. They camped and took their antiques to Pioneer Hall at the Iowa State Fair for twenty-eight years. Carolyn also enjoyed dance classes as an adult at Pam's School of Dance, going to her grandkids sporting events, school activities, and dance recitals. She enjoyed playing BINGO, shopping with her kids and grandkids, especially during the holidays and loved being invited over for a meal and trying new foods.

Survivors include her husband, Al of Toledo; children, Tony (Charlene) Landis of Des Moines, Tracy Landis of Colorado, Todd (Terri) Landis of Des Moines, Tammy (Doug) Gauch of Baxter, Trudy (Bill) Suchanek of Tama and Toby (Susan) Stier of Des Moines; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Gary McGinn; and grandsons, Nathan Landis and Joe Starits.

A memorial fund will be established.
