TAMA-Catherine Amelia Anderson, age 89, of Toledo and formerly of Tama, died on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center following a short illness. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Dewey Grimes officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Friday, March 7, 2008 from 4-7 PM at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Catherine Amelia was born on March 16, 1918, in Tama, Iowa, the daughter of John and Anna (Appeail) Petersen.
On April 13, 1941, she was united in marriage to George "Bud" Anderson at the Tama United Methodist Church. She worked at the Poultry House and was a cook at the old sale barn in Tama. Catherine enjoyed fishing, puzzles and growing flowers. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband George "Bud" in 1971; three brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include one son, Chuck (Janet) Anderson of Tama; one daughter, Anneita (Mike) Renaud of Toledo; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established.
