Charles Reuben Mitchell, 64, of Tama, passed away, Friday, June 21, 2019 at Premier Estates of Toledo under Hospice Compassus. A Traditional Wake will be held Friday evening at the Glenn Roberts Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the McIntosh Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama.

Charles was born on October 9, 1954, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Reuben R. and Bernita (Bear) Mitchell.

Charles served his country in the U.S. Army.

He graduated from Senn High School in Chicago, Illinois.

Charles liked music and enjoyed YouTube on his iPad.

Survivors include his sister, Lou Ann Mitchell; cousin, Keith Mitchell; adopted sister, Rena Papakee; and adopted cousin, Glenn Roberts.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, George and Ora (Ward) Mitchell; his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Linda (Ona Wat) Bear; his parents, Reuben R. and Bernita (Bear) Mitchell; his sister, Myra Mitchell; and his step-sister, Dawn Ona Wat Lough.
