Cherry Louise Steuhm, 76, of Tama, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. Memorial Graveside Services will be held Monday, November 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Maple Grove Cemetery in rural Tama with Rev. Dewey Grimes officiating. A Celebration of Life Gathering will follow at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Tama.
Cherry was born on March 19, 1940, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of John and Gladys (Cherry) Elliott.
On August 4, 1962, she was united in marriage to Robert P. Steuhm in Missouri. Cherry was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed working in the yard, her cats and dog, fishing and boating. Her greatest joy was her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Robert P. of Tama; seven children, Derb Cherry of Riverside, Jeff (Karin) Wheeler of Washington, IA, Tim (Lisa) Steuhm of Amarillo, TX, Robert C. Steuhm of Tama, Dawn Steuhm of Tama, Monica (Diego) Ospina of Ankeny, and Kelby (Alyssa) Steuhm of Grimes; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Aiken of Tama; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and grandparents.
A memorial fund has been established at the State Bank of Toledo.
