Christina Lucille Smith Cruz, 37, of Eldora and formerly of Toledo passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at home under the care of Hospice Compassus. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Fred Berry officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in rural Toledo. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.

Christina was born on July 27, 1977, in Grinnell, Iowa, the daughter of Dale Edgar and Arla (Taft) Smith.
She graduated from South Tama High School in 1995.
On February 22, 2002, she was united in marriage to Emilio Cruz Jr. Christina worked as an LPN at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. She enjoyed camping, fishing, shopping and going to the Casino.
Survivors include her husband, Emilio Jr. of Eldora; four children, Michael Cruz of Hart, MI, Briana Cruz of Walkerville, MI, Mikayla Smith of Eldora and Taylor Cruz of Eldora; her mother, Arla (Robert Sr.) Schmidt of Eldora; one granddaughter, Selah Gutierrez Cruz; two sisters, Buffy Wilson of Des Moines and Jennifer Anderson of Eldora; one brother, John (Kellie) Smith of Eldora; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Smith; and her grandparents.
A memorial fund has been established.
