TAMA- Claire Danielle Wedmore, age 13, of Tama, died on Sunday, June 4, 2006 in University of Minnesota Medical Center-Fairview in Minneapolis, MN due to a short illness. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2006, at 10:30 AM at the South Tama County High School Gymnasium in Tama with Pastor Jerry Avise-Rouse officiating. Interment will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 7, 2006 from 1-8 PM at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. The family will be present from 4-8 PM.
Claire Danielle Wedmore was born on October 2, 1992 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Michael and Sally Schultz Wedmore.
She attended South Tama Middle School, where she had just completed 7 th grade. Claire was active in basketball, volleyball, track, softball and student council. She attended Pam's School of Dance, and was a member of Living Faith United Methodist Church in Tama. Claire excelled at every task she was faced with, and was admired for her leadership, yet she remained humble.
She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandparents; maternal great-grandfather; paternal grandfather, Harold "Dick" Wedmore; and maternal grandfather, Henry "Hank" Schultz.
Survivors include her parents, Michael & Sally Wedmore of Tama; a brother, Jesse at home; half sister, Brooke Wedmore of Toledo; maternal grandmother, Mary Schultz of Toledo; paternal grandmother, Bernice Wedmore of Belle Plaine; maternal great-grandmother, Florence Anderson of Toledo; five aunts, Gail (Terry) Nelson of Estherville, Karen (Keith) Loger of Austin, MN, Joni (Tomm) Mitchel of Colorado Springs, CO, Julee (Scott) Mathes of Toledo, and Lori Formanek of Keystone; five uncles, Cal (Deb) Wedmore of Mankato, MN, Maynard (Pam) Wedmore of Garwin, Marlin (Laurie) Wedmore of Urbandale, Rich (Joan) Wedmore of Byron, IL, and Pat (Sandy) Wedmore of Belle Plaine, and numerous cousins.
A memorial fund has been established.
