Obituary

Clarence Ray Yuska, 88, of Toledo, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025 at UnityPoint Health-Grinnell Regional Medical Center. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Tama Meskwaki Celebration Assembly of God Church in Tama, 900 E. 5th St., Tama. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Memorial Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church.

Clarence was born on January 8, 1937, in Elberon, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Frances (Zmolek) Yuska.

He graduated from Clutier High School.

On June 4, 1957, he was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Vesely in Dysart, Iowa. Clarence drove a road grader and was a road foreman for Tama County for forty-three years.

Clarence was a member of Tama Meskwaki Celebration Assembly of God Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and listening to Polka music. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family members.

Survivors include his children, Michal Evans of Washington, IA, Lisa Yuska Rohach of Toledo, Scott (Kellie) Yuska of Urbandale, Merri (Jeff) Blocker of Waukee; eight grandchildren, Tara (Nathan) Roberts, Tyler (Kara) Evans, Tenia (Travis) Fogle, Nicole (Travis) Ledvina, Nathan Yuska, Breana Yuska, Samantha Blocker (Brandon Purcell), and Dan Blocker (Emily Paul); eight great grandchildren, Colton and Carson Roberts, Casen and Clayton Evans, Cora and Camden Fogle, Claire and Carver Ledvina; brother, Ron (Ruth) Yuska of Waterloo; sister, Betty Krezek of Traer; sisters-in-law, Sandra (Larry) Sheda of Traer, and Sue Hardon of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Sharon in 2021; seven sisters, Eleanor Novotny, Dorothy Adam, Helen Zmolek, Leona Krezek, Martha Untiedt, Maxine Yanda, and Albina Krizek; four brothers, Harry Yuska, Stanley Yuska, Melvin Yuska, and Joseph Yuska in infancy; and son-in-law, Tim Evans.
