Colene Cae Kent, 85, of Brooklyn and formerly of Tama, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024 at her daughter's home in Tama under the care of UnityPoint Hospice. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 6:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Warren Riley officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 5 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.

Colene was born on April 10, 1938, in Montezuma, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Margaret (Grier) Timm.

She graduated from HLV High School in 1957.

On July 12, 1958, she was united in marriage to Bob Kent in Belle Plaine. Colene was a medical aid at Grandview Acres in Toledo and head of kitchen for Meals on Wheels.

Colene was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama. She enjoyed dancing, Yahtzee and liked to read. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Bobi Maus of Brooklyn and Kay (Bill) Butterfield of Tama; five grandchildren, Brandi Timm (Larry Armstrong), Michael Vest (Charise Lasley), Heath (Erica) Metz, Adam (Leanna) Vest and Michele (Chris) Hotz; nine great-grandchildren, Makayla Vest, Brody Timm, Ayden Vest, Paiton and Greyson Metz, Connor, Owen, Emmett and Holdyn Vest; siblings, Margaret Ann (Royce) York of Montour and Danny Timm of Victor; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband on August 9, 2005; grandson, Nathan Vest; great-grandson, Brennan Vest; twin sister, Marlene Mathes; sister, Dixie Wentland; and brother, Gary Timm.

A memorial fund will be established.
