TOLEDO-Connie J. Buresh, age 68, of Toledo, died on Friday, April 4, 2008 of cancer at her home in Toledo under the care of Iowa River Hospice. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2008 from 4-7 PM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tama, where a Vigil Service will be held at 7 PM.
Connie J. Buresh was born on April 15, 1939, in Toledo, Iowa, the daughter of Emil J. and Mabel (Kesl) Karkosh. Connie attended Otter Creek #6 Country School for her elementary education and graduated from Toledo High School in 1957.
On April 14, 1959, she married Robert F. Buresh at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tama.
During the summer of 1956, Connie took employment with Dickens & Mickelson at the Tama County Abstract Company and worked there throughout her senior year of High School. A few years later, she advanced to the law firm of Mickelson & Roan in Toledo, n/k/a Mickelson, Roan & Appelgate, and was still working part-time when she became ill.
Connie was active in St. Patrick's Catholic Church and especially enjoyed taking communion to the sick. She cherished her time with her husband and family, and enjoyed home making, baking cookies for her grandchildren, playing cards, traveling and spending winters in Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Marvin; and one sister, Patricia.
Survivors include her husband, Bob of Toledo; one daughter, Doreen (Rodney) Hampton of Middletown, OH; one son, Mike (Heidi) Buresh of Jacksonville, FL; her grandchildren, Brian, Heather, Willa, and Reis; one sister, Kathy (Larry) Hopper of Toledo; one sister-in-law, Vivian Karkosh of Toledo; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Toledo Ambulance Service and/or Iowa River Hospice.
