Dale E. Slingluff, 103, of Toledo and formerly of Montour, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Premier Estates of Toledo. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Rev. John Epperson, Grinnell Regional Hospice Chaplain officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Montour. Visitation will be held Friday, August 3, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.

Dale was born on October 4, 1914, in rural Montour, Iowa, the son of Clyde and Verna (Frantz) Slingluff.

He graduated from Gilman High School in 1933.

On June 25, 1943, he was united in marriage to Helen L. Hempy in Montour, Iowa. Dale farmed his entire working career and sold seed corn. He was a member of the Living Faith United Methodist Church. Dale and Helen enjoyed traveling and wintered for many years down south mostly to Texas.

Survivors include one son, Terry (Jeanne) Slingluff of St. Cloud, MN; one daughter, Barbara (Elmon) Tatroe of Waverly; five grandchildren, Vicki Slingluff, Ryan Slingluff, Todd (Jen) Tatroe, Adam (Carrie) Tatroe, and Randy (Kayla) Tatroe; eight great-grandchildren, Camryn, Ty, and Lyvia Tatroe, Leah, Tate, and Reed Tatroe, and R.J. and Vivian Tatroe; one sister-in-law, Darlene Boriskey of Tipton. He leaves behind many friends in the community and at Premier Estates.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Helen in 2001; one brother, Max Slingluff; and one sister, Doris Anderson.
