September 15, 1946 – August 31, 2023
Dallas Gene Cizek, 76, of Bettendorf and formerly of Traer, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023 at his home due to natural causes. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 10:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Toledo with Pastor Tom Bower officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. A Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the church.
Dallas was born on September 15, 1946, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the son of George and Mildred (Karkosh) Cizek.
He graduated from North Tama High School in the Class of 1966.
Dallas enlisted in the U.S. Army, and served two tours of duty in Vietnam.
He was formerly married to Diane Hosek Owens and together they had two children.
Dallas drove for UPS over fifty years and he formerly drove school bus for the North Tama School District. He enjoyed riding Ragbrai for several years. In his later years, he was interested in Beekeeping and enjoyed collecting Allis Chalmers Garden Tractors.
Survivors include two children, Penny (Rob) Soat of Huxley and Paul Cizek of Traer; five grandchildren, Channing (Megan) Soat of Dallas Center, Lucas Cizek of Cedar Rapids, Maxwell Cizek of Waxahachie, TX, Chase Soat of Newberg and Josef Cizek of Manchester; two great-grandchildren, Maelynn and Isla Soat of Dallas Center; one brother, Delane (Jackie) Cizek of Toledo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial fund will be established.
