Dallas Ray Poweshiek, "Ge Ge Na Bo Sa Ta", 63, of Montour, passed away, Monday, November 6, 2023 at home. A Traditional Wake will be held Monday evening, November 6, 2023 at the Bear Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama with Wayne Pushetonequa as speaker.

Dallas was born on November 27, 1959 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of William Poweshiek and Diane Kearney.

He attended South Tama High School.

Dallas enjoyed watching several different T.V. shows including Westerns and History Channel. Dallas loved history and music as well as spoiling his nieces and nephews. He was often seen walking into town and spent a lot of time walking his dog around Cherry Lake.

Survivors include his mother, Diane Kearney; brothers, Derek Poweshiek, Lonnie Poweshiek and Terry (Leah) Kearney; sisters, Dawn Poweshiek and Jody (Harold) King; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and two great-great nephews. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Bo.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Poweshiek and a nephew, Jeremy Poweshiek.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Humane Society.
