Darold Dee Hennessy, 72, of Toledo, passed away Friday, June 21, 2019, at his home under the care of Unity Point Grinnell Regional Hospice. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo.

Darold was born on June 17, 1947, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Arthur Leo and Albye J. (Hess) Hennessy.

Darold graduated from South Tama High School in 1965, Marshalltown Community College in 1967 and the University of Northern Iowa in 1994.

Darold taught physical education and Drivers Ed at East Marshall. He coached softball at East Marshall, South Tama and North Tama schools and was a bus driver for the South Tama and Meskwaki schools. Darold loved golf, basketball and won awards for basketball while attending MCC. He especially loved all of his dogs he had throughout his life.

Survivors include four nieces, Tina Durnin, Adonica Hennessy, Delrae Hennessy and Lasiene Hennessy all of Toledo; several great and great-great nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Pepper.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother, Donald.

A memorial fund has been established.
