Obituary

TAMA- David Lee Brower, age 62, of Tama, died on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 in the VA Medical Center in Iowa City due to a sudden illness. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, October 2, 2006 from 6-8 PM at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will be private at a later date at Maple Hill Cemetery in Montour.
David Lee Brower was born on October 31, 1943, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Donald L. and Elois Elsa Alden Brower.
He attended Tama High School and received his GED in the Navy. He served his country in the US Navy from 1961-1964 during the Vietnam War. David then received his Associate Degree in Business from Glendale Community College in Arizona.
On November 6, 1965, he was united in marriage to Mary Kriens at the Tama United Methodist Church. He was formerly a machinist and gunsmith and restored antique furniture. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, bowling, and was featured on the cover of Field and Stream for Trapshooting. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and of the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
David was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Donald A. Brower.
Survivors include his wife Mary Brower of Tama; two daughters, Dannette (Joel) Huggins of Pleasant Hill; and Cynthia Brower (Shawn Taylor) of Las Vegas, Nevada; three granddaughters, Ashley and Amber Huggins, and Anna Taylor; one great granddaughter, Kylee Huggins; and one brother, Darrell Brower of Tama.
