Obituary

Dawn Lough, 69, of Toledo and formerly of Iowa City, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Unity Point Health - Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the McIntosh Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement with Homer Bear Jr. as Speaker. A Traditional Wake will be held Monday evening at the Bear Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement.

Dawn was born on June 30, 1949, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Bernita Bear Mitchell and Albert Morales.

Dawn held a Master of Science degree in Librarianship from University of Iowa.

She was married to Gordon Lough and he preceded her in death. Dawn enjoyed reading, doing research, and visiting the casino at Riverside.

Survivors include her half-sister, Lou Ann Mitchell of Tama; step-brother, Charles Mitchell of Tama; and adopted sister, Rena Papakee of Cedar Rapids.

Preceding her in death were her parents; step-father, Reuben R. Mitchell; and sister, Myra Mitchell in infancy.
