Delia Ann
Schroeder
December 1, 1929 – February 12, 2023
Delia was born on December 1, 1929, in rural Tama, the daughter of Wallace and Ruth (Miller) Metz. She attended and graduated from Tama High School with the class of 1947. She worked ten years at the Tama Bank before her marriage. On August 26, 1956, she married Carl E. Schroeder at Christ Methodist Church in Belle Plaine. She sold Tupperware, Avon, as well as eggs. Delia was a member of Living Faith United Methodist Church in Tama, the Tama American Legion Auxiliary, Farm Bureau and was in the Farm Bureau Chorus. She loved to go dancing with Carl and playing Pepper with her card groups. Delia was famous for her angel food cake.
She is survived by three daughters, Deborah (Steve) Kupka of Clutier, Holly (Patrick) Henry of Tama, and Dawn (Dennis) Smyser of Florida; grandchildren, Nikala (Jacob) Kopriva, Katee Kupka, Stephanie Kupka (Kyle Wildman), Eric Henry and Michael Henry; four great grandchildren, Bexley Stechcon, Berkley Stechcon, Elora Burton and Briley Wildman.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Carl on February 18, 2003; and sister, Dora Wilkinson.
Memorials may be directed to Living Faith United Methodist Church or the Tama American Legion.
Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
