Delores Mae Mitchell Troxell, 83, of Tama, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025 at home under the care of Iowa River Hospice. A Public Visitation will be held Monday, July 14, 2025 from 12-3 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will be at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama.

Delores was born on May 28, 1942, in Toledo, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Frances (Sanache) Mitchell.

She graduated from high school.

On July 1, 1959, she married Elmer H. Troxell in St. Louis, MO. Delores was a former CNA at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama and worked in housekeeping at the Meskwaki Casino. She enjoyed going to the casino and being with family and grandkids.

Survivors include her children, Andrea (Kirby) Brown of Tama, Elmer (Sandra) Troxell of Toledo, Marcellus Troxell of Tama, Mary Troxell of Toledo, Rebecca (Ruben) Garcia of Tama, Jared Troxell of Tama, and Caleb Troxell of Toledo; twenty grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Joyce Wolfe of Tama, Marcellus Mitchell of Tama, Roberta (William) Hale of Garwin, Yvette Davila of Des Moines; brother-in-law, Frank Wanatee Sr. of Tama; sister-in-law, Patsy Troxell of Ill; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Louis and Frances Mitchell; husband, Elmer Troxell; son, Vince Troxell; daughter in infancy, Linda Troxell; granddaughter, Sierra Troxell; great grandson, Roman Jimenez; siblings, Lavern Mitchell, Lois Mitchell, Sandra Mitchell, Miriam Wanatee; and special friend, Ronnie "Cracky" Rutledge.
