Obituary

Donna (YoungBear) Wolf "Me ga ke", 84, of Tama, passed away, Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Birkwood Village in Toledo. A Traditional Wake will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the Bear Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement, rural Tama. A Traditional Graveside Service will be held Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Esikekweteki (Meskwaki) Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement, rural Tama.

Donna was born on June 15, 1941, in Toledo, Iowa, the daughter of Curtis and Josephine (Mitchell) YoungBear Sr.

She graduated from South Tama Schools and attended college at University of Iowa.

Donna was employed as a fiscal officer and a shuttle driver for the Meskwaki Casino. She loved playing Bingo, slot machines, and shopping. Donna also enjoyed reading and planting flowers. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Gail (Kevin) Kapayou, Prentiss (Danielle) Wolf Jr., Denise Wolf, Laureen (Derris) Keahna, Richard Wolf, Rhiannon (Tony) Chavarria, and Spencer Wolf; grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Vanity, Jade, Ian, Kellen, Phoebe, Claire, Waylon, Prentiss W. III, Shyla, Winston, Shyannon, Jasmine, Darrian, Josephine, Laneda, Ashley, Tyler, Stevie, Denny, Dairrah, Chayte, Ed, Eliceo, Marisa, Alondra, Alessandra, Natalia, Lino, Loren and Sierra; many great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; sisters, Judith Bender, Robin (Luke) Kapayou, Staphnie Whitebreast, Ardelia Davenport, Lynn Morgan; brothers, Johnathan YoungBear, and Frank Wanatee Jr; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Richard, Victor, Curtis Jr., Calvin, and Ellsworth Sr; sisters, Juanita YoungBear, Wanda Rivas, and Karlene Armajo; and grandsons, Wayman Wolf and Derris Keahna Jr.
