Doris Elaine McClure, 87, of Tama, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at UnityPoint/Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. A Private Graveside Service will be held Friday, February 12, 2021 at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo with Pastor Jill Mack officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Doris was born on November 8, 1933, in Toledo, Iowa, the daughter of  Lester and Edith (Miller) Emerson.

She graduated from Toledo High School.

On July 21, 1957, she was united in marriage to Jack McClure in Toledo, Iowa. Doris worked in the Tama County Treasurer's Office for several years and then helped her husband at their feed store "Jack's Feed Store" in Tama. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Toledo and the EUB Church prior to that, where she was involved in UMW. She loved to play the piano. Until 1999, Doris and Jack spent twenty years in Texas during the winter.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-three years, Jack of Tama; sisters-in-law, Betty Neal of Des Moines and Pat (Bob) Conrad of Reinbeck; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Russell Emerson; and three sisters, Thelma (Ellsworth) Jorgensen, Mildred Emerson, and Esther Utterback.
