Obituary

Doris Jean Pansegrau, 86, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Unity Point Health in Marshalltown. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Living Faith United Methodist Church in Tama with Pastor Brian Oliver officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 PM on Wednesday at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Doris was born on November 9, 1930, in Conrad, Iowa, the daughter of William Sunday and Winifred Bernice (Harris) Gallentine.

She graduated from Marshalltown High School.

On November 13, 1949, she was united in marriage to Romayne E. Pansegrau at the Marshalltown Christian Church. Doris helped her husband on the farm. She also worked at Nash Finch Grocery Store for twenty seven years, retiring in 1992. She was manager in the meat department at Sun Mart as well as cooking in the deli at Super Valu for one year to help get the store started. Doris was a member of Living Faith United Methodist Church in Tama, where she was active in various organizations, Woman's Circle, and in charge of funeral luncheons. She was also in a 500 card club for fifty years.

Survivors include six children, Dennis (Cheryl) Pansegrau of Toledo, David (Becky) Pansegrau of Tama, Steve (Cheryl) Pansegrau of Toledo, Duane (Debbie) Pansegrau of Toledo, Jim Pansegrau (Luann Kithcart) of Tama, and Chris (Don) Weitzell of LeGrand; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren and three on the way; one sister, Phyllis (Bob) Miller of Marshalltown; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Romayne on April 7, 2009; four siblings, Florence Hughes, her twin brother, Dale Gallentine, Juanita Dodd, and Peggy Faircloth.
