Dorothy Mae Graff, 95, of Tama, passed away May 23, 2026 at Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Maple Grove Cemetery in rural Tama with Pastor Warren Riley officiating.

Dorothy was born on April 27, 1931, in rural Tama, Iowa, the daughter of Oscar and Florence (Shuler) Anderson.

Dorothy graduated from Tama High School.

On May 11, 1950, she was united in marriage to Lyle John Graff at St. John Lutheran Church in rural Tama, Iowa. Dorothy was employed by a local nursing home from 1969-1983, and then went to work for DHS from 1983 until her retirement in 2001.

Dorothy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama. She enjoyed crocheting, refinishing furniture, and gardening. Dorothy was very involved in raising her grandchildren and would open her house to anyone. She was like the “town grandma.” Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include one grandson, Dana (Selah) Graff of Tama; one granddaughter, Heather (Jon) Keen of Tama; eight great-grandchildren, Kara McCollister, Elena Keen, Jaiden, Devyn, Arianna, Aaliyah Graff, Grayson and Adonis Graff; three great-grandchildren, Mateo, Maxine, and Isabella; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Lyle in 1997; two sons, Richard and Douglas Graff; one brother, Edward Anderson; and one sister, Mary Schultz.
