Dorothy Anna Lenhart, 90, of Tama passed away Monday, September 9, 2013 at Carrington Place of Toledo under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September, 13, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama with Pastor Kalen Barkholtz and Pastor Chad Penner officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Dorothy Anna Schuett was born on August 7, 1923 to August and Henrietta (Schmidt) Schuett in Canova, South Dakota. She was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Canova.
At the age of two she moved with her parents and her brother Leonard to a farm south of Tama in Columbia Township. She attended rural school in Columbia and Richland Township and graduated from Tama High School in 1941. She went on to teach in rural schools in Highland and Columbia Township.
She was united in marriage to Clifford Lenhart on December 5, 1945 at St John's Lutheran Church in rural Tama. They farmed in Columbia Township and lived on the farm for sixty-seven years. She moved to the Independent Living at Carrington in 2012.
She was employed by South Tama County Schools for twenty years and retired in 1985. Dorothy was an active member of St Paul's Lutheran Church serving on many women's groups and other committees. She also was a member of the Oak Hill Cemetery Association.
She loved traveling to Colorado and being with her son and daughter in law as well as her three grandchildren. Her activities were camping with her family as well as gardening and watching her grandchildren's various music, drama, and sporting events.
She is preceded in death by her husband Clifford, her parents; and her brother, Leonard.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Gary (Cyndy) of Colorado; three grandchildren, Jenny (Chad) Penner of Oklahoma, Chris (Stephanie) Lenhart of Colorado, and Cody (Amanda) Lenhart of Florida; five great-grandchildren, Sean, Ethan and Colbe Penner and Noah and Annabelle Lenhart; a brother Harold (Bernadine) Schuett of Tama, her sisters-in-law, Joan Yanda of Maquoketa and Rita Lenhart of Tama; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established for the Children of Haiti.
