Obituary

Dorothy A. Moran, 90, of Tama, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 at her home in Tama. Graveside Services will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama with Rev. Dewey Grimes officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Dorothy was born on February 16, 1924, in Toledo, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Mildred (Adair) Maher.
She graduated from Tama High School in 1942.
Dorothy married Herman Timm in 1949. He passed away on December 4, 1963. On March 20, 1975, she married Homer L. Moran in Elk Pointe, S.D., and he passed away on December 20, 1999. Dorothy worked in a factory in Des Moines during World War II and then Younkers Department Store. She was a switchboard operator in Tama, and worked in the office at Central Iowa Telephone in Toledo and General Telephone Company in Grinnell for sixteen years. Dorothy was a member of the Tama American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include two children, Ann (Marvin Sr.) Stochl of Tama and Stephen Timm of Toledo; six grandchildren, Lori (Mark) Bonnell, Debbie (Dan) Fetters, Alyssa (John) Arnold, Jamie (Joe) Duggan, Annie Timm and Marvin (Spring) Stochl Jr.; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands Herman Timm and Homer Moran Sr.; and a grandson Alan Stochl.
