Dorothy Marie Zmolek, 81, of Toledo passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo under the care of Allen Hospice. A Funeral Liturgy will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Deacon Joe Behounek officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in rural Toledo. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 1, 2014 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.




Dorothy was born on March 29, 1933, in York Township in Tama County, Iowa, the daughter of Peter M. and Mary Ann (Dvorak) Zmolek.
She attended rural schools in York Township. Dorothy enjoyed crossword puzzles, puzzles and knitting. She had a knack for remembering everyone's birthday. Dorothy was very involved in the activities at the different care facilities where she resided.
Survivors include one brother, Raymond (Mary) Zmolek of Boone; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Rose Wacha and Rita Green; and one brother, Stanley Zmolek.
Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama.
