TOLEDO-Elizabeth M. Deane, age 74, of Toledo, formerly of Chicago died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a brief illness.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Chicago. Interment will follow at Acacia Park Cemetery in Chicago. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 27 at Lakeview Funeral Home in Chicago from 4-9 PM
Elizabeth was born on November 15, 1933 in Beaver Creek, North Dakota the daughter of Benjamin and Emma (Lockwood) Jones. She was united in marriage to Gerald Deane on November 28, 1954 in Elba Woods, North Dakota. Before her retirement, Elizabeth was a customer service manager for Evans Furrier. In her free time Elizabeth loved to shop and go to casinos.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Grace Huber.
Survivors include her husband Gerald of Toledo; eight children, Veronica Deane of Chicago, IL, Edward (Ruth) Deane of Chicago, IL, Michael (Patricia) Deane of Chicago, IL, Deborah Deane of Chicago, IL, Les (Kay) Deane of Toledo, Jay Deane of Chicago, IL, David (Maryann) Deane of Chicago, IL and Mary Elizabeth Deane of Chicago, IL; twenty-two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister Carole (John) Naughton of Lombard, IL; a brother Tom Jones of Priest River Falls, ID; two aunts, Cecelia and Beaulah Lockwood of North Dakota; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established for the Toledo Ambulance Service.
