"Medimetaqa" Ellsworth "Bucky" Youngbear Jr., 46, of Tama, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Monday, August 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Meskwaki Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama with Homer Bear Jr. as speaker. A Traditional Wake will be held Sunday evening at the Bear Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama.


Ellsworth was born on August 31, 1970, in Marshalltown, the son of Arlene "Shawnee" Blackcloud and Ellsworth Youngbear Sr. He attended South Tama Schools. Bucky enjoyed traveling to Powwows and loved spending time with his children.


Survivors include his children, Surrell Youngbear of Tama, Francine Youngbear of Toledo, Ellsworth Youngbear III of Tama, Josephine Youngbear of Toledo, Zandra Youngbear of Toledo, Joel (Ashley) Youngbear of Arkansas, Jerald (Fiona) Youngbear of Minnesota, and Matthew (Paige) Willow of Oklahoma; two grandchildren, mother, Arlene Blackcloud of Tama; father, Ellsworth Youngbear Sr. of Tama; siblings, Holly (Jeff) Youngbear-Schrock of Toledo; Jesse (Jennifer) Ortiz of Toledo, Heliodoro Ortiz of Tama, and Jason Davenport of Tama; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.


Preceding him in death was his brother, Murray Youngbear; and grandparents, Curtis and Josephine (Mitchell) Youngbear and Arthur and Frances (Poweshiek) Blackcloud Sr.
