TAMA- Elmer Ray Propp, age 74, of Tama died Friday, December 1, 2006 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama due to a lengthy illness.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at 10:30 AM at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Dewey Grimes officiating. Interment will follow at Center School Cemetery in rural Marshalltown. Visitation will be on Monday, December 4 from 4 to 7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Elmer was born on December 5, 1931 in Ferguson, Iowa the son of Herman F. and Ethel Frances (Hulshizer) Propp Sr. He served in the Army Air Force during the Korean War. Elmer married Emma Jean Russell on November 9, 1957 at Adel, Iowa. He was retired from the City of Toledo maintenance department. Elmer was a member of Toledo American Legion Reining-Fredrich Post #72 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Tama. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and going on car rides with his family.

Survivors include his wife Emma; eight children Cindy (Jeff) Feisel of Lincoln, Vicki Vargas of Tama, Ed Propp of Tama, Dale Propp of Tama, Tim Propp of Tama, Juanita Velasquez of Tama, Denny Propp of Mount Pleasant, and Charlene Ramirez of Tama; sixteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
