TAMA- Elsie Mae Sieck, age 88, a resident of Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama died Thursday, November 6, 2008 at the care center due to a short illness. Private family services will be held Monday, November 10, 2008. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery in rural Vining, Iowa.
Elsie was born on May 30, 1920, in rural Clutier, the daughter of Frank and Josie (Jesina) Wisner.
She attended the rural schools in the area of her birth.
Her first marriage was to Edward Zeman and then she was married to Fritz Sieck of Tama. The couple always resided in Tama, where she enjoyed her duties of being a homemaker and raising her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Edward and Fritz; one daughter, Evelyn Sindelar; three sisters, Albina Koss, Mayme Huffman, and Blanche Hauschildt; and one brother, Glenn Jesina of Toledo.
Survivors include two sons, Edward D. Zeman (Teri Bryant) of California and Eugene L. (Charlotte) Zeman of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Sandra (Rick) Hixson, Edward Zeman III (Cindy Christianson), and Gina (Wes) Hoskey; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Gladys Kubalek of Tama.
Memorials may be directed to Grinnell Regional Hospice.
