Obituary

Elton John Roberts, 38, of Tama passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Friday, April 19, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Meskwaki Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama with Michael Keahna as speaker. A Traditional Wake will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Fox Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement, rural Tama.
Elton was born on February 18, 1975, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Glendora Mauskemo and Gordon Roberts.
He attended school in Tama and Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. He graduated from the Ironworker training program in Chicago, Illinois.
Elton enjoyed being with his family and friends. He liked fishing, bowling, and pow-wows.
Survivors include his mother, Glendora of Tama; his father, Gordon of Tama; three daughters, Ashlynne, Celia, and Lily Roberts all of Tama; his brothers, Issaiah Roberts, Lance Mauskemo, and Elliott Funmaker all of Tama, and Bruce (Jessi) Mauskemo of Rochester, MN; his sister, Jessica Funmaker of Marshalltown; one adopted brother, Adrian Hoag; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jane Mauskemo; and one brother, Jason Papakee.
