TOLEDO – Eric Michael Turgeon, age 19, died Friday, July 28, 2006 after complications of a construction accident in Memphis, Tennessee. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 7:00 P.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 703 12th Street in Marshalltown. Interment will be private. Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama is handling the local arrangements.
He was born on August 3, 1986 in San Diego, California, the son of Glenn and LaVonne Powell Turgeon. He was a graduate of South Tama County High School in 2004 and Marshalltown Community College with his construction degree and his associates in science degree in 2006. He had worked at Sears, PCI, Designer Inn, Mesqwaki Bingo, Casino, and Hotel, and his family's business Ted's Home Improvement in the past four years.
Survivors include his mother LaVonne "Von" Craghead, and step-father William "Ted" Craghead of Toledo; father Glenn Turgeon and step-mother Lori Turgeon of Lakeside, California; brother Daemond Turgeon of Lakeside, California; three step-sisters Amber Randall, Cami Call, and Sky Upshaw all of Ogden, Utah; grandparents Martha Powell Miller of Waterloo, Iowa, Robert Craghead of Brigham City, Utah, Al and Mary Bean of Des Moines, Iowa, Eugene Turgeon of Cumberland, Rhode Island, Carol Turgeon of Lakeside, California; and Jim and Beverly Pawson of Omstead, MI; and eight nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Martin Miller and grandmother Lucille Craghead.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the State Bank of Toledo.
