Ernest "Ernie" Henry Croteau Jr., 58, of Tama, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. It was Ernie's wishes to be cremated and there will be no formal services.


Ernest was born on December 13, 1955, in San Francisco, CA, the son of Ernest Henry and Evelyn (Burke) Croteau Sr.
On December 30, 1977, he was united in marriage to Denise Viehmeyer in Westminster, CA. Ernie was a security officer at Swift in Marshalltown and previously at the Meskwaki Casino. Prior to that he was a tow truck driver in California. Ernie enjoyed fishing and mechanics. He loved to cook and barbeque.
Survivors include his wife, Denise of Tama; one daughter, Rachelle Gutierrez of Lancaster, CA; two grandchildren, Trichawn and Shawnyzi Adams; and one brother, Joseph Croteau of San Bruno, CA.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a sister, Carlene Hoglivina.
A memorial fund has been established.
