TOLEDO-Esther Beatrice Bartosh, 86, of Toledo, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with her grandson, Curtis Bearden officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
Esther Beatrice Bartosh was born on August 13, 1923, in Tama, Iowa, the daughter of Dale and Mayme (Dolash) Hardon.
She graduated from Tama High School. She received her Practical Teaching Certificate.
On April 23, 1942, she was united in marriage to Charles Bartosh at the Tama Methodist Parsonage. They entertained at area care centers, Esther would sing and Charles would play the button accordion. She was an excellent artist and enjoyed drawing. She wrote many poems. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Esther was a member of the Crazy Eights.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Raymond and Frank Hardon and Bobby Hardon in infancy; one sister, June Suchanek; and one granddaughter, Mary Bartosh.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-eight years, Charles "Charlie" of Toledo; one daughter, Sharon (Loren) Drake of Davenport; two sons, Wayne (Faye) Bartosh of Davenport and Lester Joe Bartosh of Toledo; four grandchildren, Kenneth (Patty) Bearden, Curtis (Melody) Bearden, Tara (Jim) Moffit and JoAnn (fiancé, Pablo Ramos) Bartosh; four great-grandchildren, Ashley Bearden, Autumn Bearden, Aine and Kyna Moffit.
A memorial fund has been established.
