Esther Maxine Dotzler 80, of State Center and formerly of Tama, passed away Friday, May 29 2015 at the State Center Nursing & Rehab Center under the added care of Care Initiatives Hospice. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama.
Esther was born November 27, 1934 in Tama, Iowa the daughter of Elmer and Florence (Elliot) Church.
She married Lyle Dotzler in March of 1959 in Mingo Iowa,later divorcing. They had one son Robert.
Esther loved being around people and visiting with them. She enjoyed making crafts and sharing them with friends and family. Esther is well known for her love of anything purple. Those who knew her will miss her smile, her sense of fun, and her laugh.
She has left to mourn one son Robert Lee Dotzler of Grafton, Ohio; two sisters: Elenora Gregory of Marshalltown and May Triplett of Tama, and the staff, residents, volunteers and friends of State Center Nursing & Rehab Center.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Bud, Thomas, and Howard Church; and four sisters, Beulah Church, Pauline Shipley, Fay Shook and Gladys Simmons.
