Obituary

Eve Prescott Simpson, 84, of Toledo, passed away at her home on Thursday, March 14, 2024 under the care of Iowa River Hospice, with her family by her side. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 3-5 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Future Services will be held in Nebraska with Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Atkinson, NE.

Eve was born on October 4, 1939, in Amelia, NE, the daughter of Casper and Amber (Baker) Addison.

She graduated from Atkinson High School in Nebraska and the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska.

She was married to Bob Prescott and he passed away in 1980, and then Jack Prescott who passed away in 2006, and lastly, Larry Simpson who passed away in 2022.

Eve worked as the food service director at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Atkinson, NE and for many years as a food service director for the South Tama County Community School District. She then worked at the State Bank of Toledo until retirement. Eve was so proud of her "yours, mine and ours" children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren from her marriages and loved them all. Her hobbies included gardening, crocheting, watching sports, traveling, word puzzles, Sudoku and bird watching. She was a huge fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Debbie (Dennis) Batey of Clinton, WA, Jack (Melody) Prescott of Jamesport, MO, Bob (Kathy) Prescott of Moore, OK, Mike (Joan) Farrier of Emmet, NE, and Leigh (Bobby Krawchuk) Fox of Romeoville, IL; forty-one grandchildren; forty-one great grandchildren; four sisters, Dora Prescott of Spring Valley, CA, Dee (Jim) Veeder of Kimberling City, MO, Judy (Bob) Knutson of O'Neill, NE and Karen Addison of Grand Island, NE; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Bella.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Bob Prescott, Jack Prescott and Larry Simpson; daughter, Shelley Garlick; son, Kurtis Prescott; grandson, Jesse Moeller; great-grandson, Carson J. Lisle; and brothers, Lyle, Marvin and John Addison.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Tama County Humane Society.
