Evelyn F. Bidwell, 94, of Tama, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 1, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Kalen Barkholtz officiating. Interment will follow at Sheridan Cemetery in rural Malcom. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 31, 2011 from 5 to 8 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Evelyn was born on September 1, 1916 in Toledo, Iowa, the daughter of James and Mary (Ribby) Wacha.
She graduated from Toledo High School.
On January 1, 1940, she was united in marriage to William Olin Bidwell in Tama. She was a homemaker and worked at Pioneer during harvest. Evelyn enjoyed gardening and she loved her flowers. She also enjoyed embroidery, Bingo and fishing in Minnesota.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, William in 1994; one son, Larry in infancy; a sister, Bernice Higginbotham; and three sons-in-law, John Frahm, John Graff, and William Duggan.
Survivors include her children, twin daughters, Sandra Frahm and Sharon Graff both of Tama, Mary Duggan of Tama and Dale (Dianne) Bidwell of Tama; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Marie Wacha of Tama, Lucille Jacobson of Dubuque, Genevieve Iezek of Dysart, James (Shirley) Wacha Jr. of Tama and Roger (Joann) Wacha Sr. of Toledo.
A memorial fund has been established.
